Sick of the Mainstream Bureaucracy? Get Back to Actual Teaching.
Location: Hinckley
Salary: £32,916 to £45,352 per annum (M1 - M6 equivalent)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Term-Time Only (40 hours/week)
The Reality Check
Mainstream education is increasingly dominated by rigid metrics, endless data tracking, and a "one-size-fits-all" curriculum that leaves far too many bright, vulnerable kids behind. If you are exhausted by the box-ticking bureaucracy and want to get back to the reason you actually became a teacher—to build relationships and change lives—this is the escape route you've been looking for.
We are looking for a Maths & Science Teacher to join our specialised SEN team in Hinckley. Here, we don't do standardised conveyor-belt education. We build tailored, multi-sensory learning experiences around the child, focusing on learners aged 7 to 19 who need a completely different approach to thrive.
What Makes This Role Different?
- No Crowded Classrooms: Forget managing 30+ distracted kids. You will teach in small groups or on a dedicated 1:1 basis, allowing you to actually teach and see the direct impact of your work.
- Autonomy to Be Creative: You'll collaborate directly with Site Leads to design innovative, flexible Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculums. If a lesson needs to pivot to match a learner's energy or interest, you have the freedom to change it.
- Holistic Success: We measure progress not just by grades, but by confidence rebuilt, emotional regulation gained, and social milestones hit.
- Manageable Admin: While you will still contribute to EHCP reviews, learner profiles, and progress tracking, your paperwork is directly tied to the child's actual development, not just hitting school-board quotas.
What You Need to Bring
- We are looking for a resilient, grounded professional who can see past challenging behaviours to the potential underneath.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) & a Level 6 Qualification are essential.
- Subject Capability: You need to be able to deliver Maths and Science. If you're an expert in one but need a bit of development in the other, we will fully support your training.
- The Right Mindset: Mainstream or SEN background, what matters most is your ability to build trust, set boundaries, and stay calm under pressure.
The Perks
A competitive salary matching M1-M6 scales, term-time-only hours to protect your personal time, and a work culture that treats you like an adult. More importantly, you get your job satisfaction back.
