Are you a passionate and experienced educational leader with a proven track record in working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Our client, an independent specialist school in Westbury, is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Headteacher to lead their team. The school caters to boys and girls aged 7-17, providing a high‑quality, therapeutic, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Provide clear, authentic, and inspiring leadership to drive positive change and ensure the school\’s continued success.

Curriculum Development: Coordinate and deliver a holistic, creative, and academically engaging curriculum that places pupil needs at the centre of learning.

Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of school management, including staff leadership, professional collaboration, and pupil safeguarding.

Teaching & Learning: Deliver high‑quality teaching for 0.4 of the timetable, with a focus on Maths and/or English to GCSE level, and vocational courses.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with industry professionals, local authorities, parents, and carers to provide comprehensive support for every student.
Essential Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A proven record of good or outstanding teaching practice.

SEND & SEMH Expertise: Extensive experience working with children with SEMH and SEND, including managing challenging behaviour and supporting those with adverse childhood experiences.

Teaching Capability: The ability and willingness to teach Maths and/or English to GCSE level, and experience in delivering vocational BTEC, Functional Skills, or ELC courses.

Leadership & Management: Strong management skills and the ability to work effectively with various professional networks.
