Key Responsibilities
  • Specialist Instruction: Deliver high-quality English lessons as a subject expert, moving beyond general cover to provide deep academic insight.
  • Full Planning & Prep: Take full responsibility for the planning and preparation of all lessons, ensuring they meet the specific needs of the curriculum and your learners.
  • Consistent Delivery: Provide a reliable and consistent presence for the department, helping to maintain standards during a colleague's long-term absence.
  • Digital Integration: Utilise your computer literacy to enhance learning and manage classroom resources effectively.
  • Continuous Development: Engage in additional CPD provided every Monday to stay at the forefront of teaching practices.

Working Hours

Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:00
Friday: 08:00 - 15:00
Note: Additional CPD sessions are provided on Mondays.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential.
  • Subject Expertise: You must be an English Specialist; this role is not suitable for non-specialists or general cover staff.
  • IT Skills: Ideally computer literate and comfortable using technology within the classroom.
  • Commitment: Looking for one consistent individual who can commit to an ongoing long-term absence.
  • Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
