Are you a resilient and creative educator ready to make a lasting impact? We are looking for a Qualified Teacher (QTS) with a heart for special education to join a dedicated team in Grays. In this role, you will be teaching pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Global Development Delay.

Our schools in Grays pride themselves on providing a safe, "can-do" environment where the curriculum is tailored to the child, rather than the child to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specialised Delivery: Deliver lessons that prioritise functional communication, sensory engagement, and life skills.
  • Support Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 Learning Support Assistants, ensuring every student receives the 1:1 attention they require.
  • EHCP Implementation: Take ownership of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, ensuring every lesson contributes toward a student's long-term goals.
  • Safe Environment: Maintain a calm and regulated classroom using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience with specialised communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or SCERTS.
  • A proven ability to differentiate work for a wide range of ability levels (including pre-verbal learners).
  • A commitment to working in the Grays/Thurrock area and engaging with local families.
