At Randstad, we are seeking a dedicated EYFS/KS1 teaching assistant with strong knowledge of phonics packages, particularly Read Write Inc, to support children in their early learning journey. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons across EYFS and KS1
  • Deliver targeted phonics interventions, particularly using Read Write Inc, to help pupils develop essential literacy skills
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to enhance student learning and progress
  • Assist with classroom preparation, including organising resources and supporting lesson activities
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported
  • Work closely with the teacher and SENCO to support pupils with additional learning needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and a love for learning in young children
  • Support children during transitions, playtime, and other daily routines
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant in EYFS or KS1
  • Strong knowledge of phonics, particularly Read Write Inc
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent qualification)
  • Understanding of early childhood development and learning strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to the needs of the classroom
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
