Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher with QTS to support children with special educational needs in Rochford. This is a full-time permanent role.

Position: SEN Teacher QTS

Location: Rochford

Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Qualification: SEN experience, QTS

This role requires cultivating a nurturing, secure, and stimulating environment where children with special educational needs can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse learning needs of SEN students
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils, setting clear targets and monitoring progress
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support student learning and development
  • Assess pupils' abilities and progress regularly, adapting teaching methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies (e.g., therapists, psychologists) to provide holistic support
  • Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social and emotional development
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on pupil progress for parents and senior management
  • Participate in professional development to stay updated on SEN best practices and legislation

Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with, the students
  • Creative, proactive and flexible in supporting style
  • Experience with SEN or knowledge of learning difficulties
  • Experience up to Key Stage 3/4 QTS/PGCE equivalent

A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage due to the urgent nature of some of these roles.
