At the Essex Team, we work with a wide variety of primary schools in Southend. We offer total flexibility - whether you're looking for day-to-day supply to fit around your lifestyle or a long-term position in a local school.

Your Role:

  • Supporting Learning: Working 1:1 or in small groups to help children understand lessons and stay engaged.
  • Removing Barriers: Assisting students with additional needs (SEN), including Autism or ADHD, by adapting tasks to suit their learning style.
  • Classroom Support: Helping the teacher set up activities, manage classroom behaviour, and create a positive learning environment.
  • Building Confidence: Providing emotional and social support to help pupils grow in independence and self-esteem.
  • Encouraging Interaction: Supporting children during play and group work to develop their social skills.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children (schools, youth work, or childcare settings).
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable personality.
  • A basic understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • An enhanced child DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Right to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not available for this role).
