Are you a passionate, qualified (QTS) Girls' PE teacher seeking an opportunity to make a real impact? We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our supportive school community on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.   • Subject Specialism: Physical Education (PE) - Experience teaching a wide range of sports and fitness activities is essential.

What We're Looking For:

We need an inspirational teacher committed to high-quality teaching and learning in PE and fostering a positive educational environment, particularly in girls' sport.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching & Learning: Planning and delivering well-structured, engaging PE lessons across all Key Stages, catering to various abilities and fostering a love for physical activity. Demonstrating excellent subject and curriculum knowledge within Physical Education and Sport Science. Adapting teaching to meet the diverse needs and strengths of all pupils, promoting participation and skill development. Establishing a clear skills and knowledge map to ensure pupil progress in practical performance and theoretical understanding at the end of each Key Stage. Ensuring pupils' behaviour in lessons supports learning and maintains a focus on physical and academic achievement.
  • Curriculum Enrichment (Extra-curricular/Visits): Providing a stimulating calendar of subject-related extra-curricular activities (e.g., coaching school teams, running fitness clubs). Contributing to the school visits program, including organising and attending fixtures and sports tours.
  • Assessment & Communication: Setting, marking, and administering internal examinations (e.g., GCSE/A-Level PE theory). Producing accurate pupil progress reports and attending parents' meetings. Liaising effectively with Form Tutors and parents to celebrate achievements and communicate concerns regarding student development in PE.
  • Professional Practice & Community: Undertaking school duties (lunchtime, break-time, after-school) and participating in the School Activity Program (often involving sports coaching/clubs) on a rota basis. Ensure that departmental indoor & outdoor classrooms (gym, fields, changing rooms) are stimulating and safe learning environments. Making a positive contribution to the life and supportive ethos of the school community. Modelling high standards of behaviour, courtesy, and respect at all times.
