We are seeking enthusiastic KS1 Teachers to lead Year 1 classes across a variety of high-achieving and community-focused schools. This role is ideal for those who want to focus on high-quality teaching and pupil engagement rather than endless data tracking and weekend planning.
Curriculum Focus: Lead the charge in Year 1, with a particular emphasis on early literacy, numeracy, and the transition from EYFS.
Freedom & Variety: Experience different school cultures and demographics, from small village schools to large multi-academy trusts.
Work-Life Balance: Leave at the end of the school day! As a supply teacher, you enjoy the rewards of the classroom with no "take-home" marking or staff meetings.

Your Role as the Classroom Lead
As a Year 1 Supply Teacher, you are the captain of the ship, ensuring that learning continues seamlessly and that every child feels supported.
- Expert Lesson Delivery: Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that bridge the gap between play-based learning and KS1 structure.
- Phonics Mastery: Utilise your knowledge of Phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc, Jolly Phonics, or Little Wandle) to boost reading confidence.
- Classroom Management: Quickly build rapport with new groups of children, maintaining a calm, productive, and safe learning environment.
- Adaptive Teaching: Differentiate tasks on the fly to support pupils with diverse needs, ensuring every child stays on track with the day's objectives.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for qualified professionals with a passion for early primary education. You are an ideal fit if you:
- Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Are a KS1 Specialist: You have a deep understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and the developmental needs of 5 and 6-year-olds.
- Are Adaptable: You can walk into a new classroom and instantly command respect and curiosity through high-energy teaching.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
