The Role
Working in a specialist setting in the historic heart of Colchester, you will be responsible for:
- Personalising Progress: Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons for pupils with diverse needs (including ASD, SEMH, and SLD).
- Empowering Independence: Using creative resources and sensory strategies to help students navigate the curriculum and the world around them.
- Collaborative Leadership: Leading a team of LSAs to create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Holistic Support: Working closely with parents, therapists, and the SENCO to ensure EHCP targets are not just met, but exceeded.
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A "can-do" attitude-someone who can adapt when a lesson doesn’t go to plan and find a new way to engage. Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and experience with de-escalation techniques (e.g., Team Teach or Step On) is a bonus. A genuine desire to make a difference in the Colchester community.
