The Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and committed Qualified Teacher of Maths to join a highly-regarded mainstream Secondary School based in the Bury St Edmunds area. This role is fundamental to maintaining the department's excellent track record, which sees consistently strong results at both GCSE and A-Level (including Further Maths). You will be responsible for teaching Maths across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5 (depending on experience and departmental need). Your daily efforts will directly contribute to fostering a stable, inclusive, and academically enriching learning experience, helping pupils appreciate the beauty and utility of Maths.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, conceptual lessons that effectively cater to diverse learning styles and abilities across all key stages.
- Instill a genuine love for Maths, promoting logical reasoning, systematic problem-solving, and resilience.
- Rigorously assess, record, and report on pupils' progress, utilizing data-driven feedback to identify areas for intervention and enrichment.

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related field are essential.
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with Key Stage 5 experience being highly desirable).
- A naturally enthusiastic and clear teaching style, with the ability to demystify complex concepts for all students.
- Excellent subject knowledge, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
- The ability to quickly establish strong, professional, and trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one promptly).
