About the Role
We are looking for a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to grow the college footprint across the construction sector. You will play a key role in developing employer partnerships, identifying skills gaps, and creating opportunities for apprenticeships, training programmes, and workforce development solutions. This is a high-impact role suited to someone who understands the construction industry and thrives on building long-term employer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with construction employers (SMEs and larger contractors)
- Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into training partnerships
- Promote apprenticeship and training programmes aligned to employer needs
- Work closely with internal delivery teams to ensure a high-quality employer experience
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress and conversion rates
- Represent the organisation at industry events, networking groups, and employer forums
- Contribute to sector growth strategies and employer engagement plans
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or employer engagement
- Strong knowledge of the construction sector (e.g. trades, contractors, supply chain)
- Track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to identify employer needs and translate them into solutions
- Self-motivated, organised, and results-driven
