Randstad Education is seeking a qualified teacher (QTS) with a passion for French and Spanish to lead a school's MFL department. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping an innovative curriculum and inspiring a love of languages and culture in both students and staff. This is a permanent position and you will be required to support five days a week Monday – Friday inline with school hours.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the MFL department, managing staff performance and professional development.
- Set the strategic direction for the MFL curriculum (KS3‑KS5).
- Be accountable for teaching standards and student attainment.
- Use student data to track progress and drive departmental improvement.
- Manage the departmental budget and resources.
- Lead and develop the extra‑curricular and enrichment programme.
- Ensure full departmental compliance with safeguarding and all school policies.
Preferred Skills:
- A degree in French, Spanish, or a related languages field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Significant experience as a secondary MFL Teacher.
- Proven leadership experience within a school (e.g., Second in Department, Key Stage Lead).
- A strong track record of improving student attainment and exam results in MFL.
- Experience in curriculum design and strategic departmental planning.
- Skill in analysing student data to inform teaching strategies.
