The predicted salary is between 21000 - 25000 Β£ per year.

Location: Newton Abbot, Devon

Hours: 08:30 - 15:30 (Monday to Friday)

Contract: Term-Time Only

Salary: Competitive hourly/daily rate (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming school community in Newton Abbot. The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support for pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs (which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to ensure pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Managing challenging behaviour with patience, empathy, and positive reinforcement.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external specialists.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience working with SEN children is essential (within a school, care, or youth work setting).
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to the varying needs of the pupils.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
