The Role
As an Instructor in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), your focus is on engagement and practical application. You will be responsible for:
- Leading Science Sessions: Delivering practical, high-interest Science lessons to small groups of students (KS3/KS4).
- Specialist Support: Managing complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs with patience and empathy.
- Behavioural Mentoring: Using de-escalation techniques and building rapport to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Adaptability: Tailoring the curriculum to meet the specific Special Educational Needs (SEN) of each learner.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- UK Experience: You must have a solid background of working or instructing within the UK education or youth sector.
- Strong SEN Experience: Proven experience supporting students with SEMH, ASD, or challenging behaviours is essential.
