Position Details

  • Position: Learning Support Worker
  • Full Time and Part Time options available
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Location: Dunsfold Park, Cranleigh, Surrey
  • Salary: £25,000 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Supporting autistic adults on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Planning and delivering engaging learning activities and life skills sessions
  • Supporting communication, independence and social development
  • Providing behaviourally based support to reduce barriers to learning
  • Supporting learners with personal and intimate care where required
  • Assisting learners to access social, leisure and employment opportunities within the community
  • Encouraging learner choice, confidence and decision-making
  • Monitoring and recording learner progress and adapting support strategies where needed
  • Administering medication once trained and following company procedures
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to achieve positive outcomes
  • Maintaining a calm, safe and positive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience supporting adults or young people with disabilities (professional, personal or voluntary)
  • Comfortable supporting individuals with challenging behaviour
  • Comfortable providing personal/intimate care where required
  • Calm and resilient approach under pressure
  • Positive, patient and caring attitude
  • Passion for supporting autistic individuals to develop life skills and independence
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality
  • GCSE English & Maths Grade C/4 or equivalent desirable
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
