We are urgently seeking a resilient, fun, and creative SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly commended, "Ofsted Good" SEN school. If you have experience in care or education or personal experience with SEN and a desire to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, we want to hear from you.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an SEN Teaching Assistant working within the KS3 and KS4 departments, your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Providing tailored support to learners on a 1:1, small group, and wider classroom basis.
  • Assisting students with various SEN requirements, focusing heavily on SEMH needs.
  • Fostering a love for learning while guiding students toward independence.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
  • Actively participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole-school training events.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

To be considered for this rewarding Learning Support role, applicants must possess:

  • Experience: 6 to 12 months of experience in a care, education, or learning support environment.
  • Qualifications: GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Mindset: A flexible, resilient, and positive approach to supporting learners with complex needs.

Note: Direct SEN experience is highly desirable, though candidates with a strong care background or those with personal SEN experience looking to transition into education are encouraged to apply.
