Bishop Grosseteste University is seeking part-time Specialist one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to work with autistic students. The role is hybrid, requiring travel to the local university or college and offering both in-person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.
As a Specialist one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance, including creating an individual learning plan tailored to the student's needs to encourage independence.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to identify and build on students' learning strengths
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in creating individual learning plans
- Experience with various research methods and referencing styles
- Ability to foster independence and self-advocacy in students
- Experience managing a caseload of students
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree (Level 6)
- Possess a teaching qualification
- Completed extensive training in adult autism, such as: 6 National Autistic Society Modules (non-medical helper package), or The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education
