Cover Supervisor in Essex

Are you an adaptable, confident individual looking for flexible work in local secondary schools? We are recruiting Cover Supervisors in the Benfleet area to support secondary schools with short-notice, day-to-day sickness and emergency cover.

This is an ideal role for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced youth workers who need flexibility and competitive daily pay without taking work home.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising pre-set work left by absent teachers across various subjects.

• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Assisting students with their work and answering general queries.

• Leaving clear handovers for returning staff at the end of the day.

Requirements

• Availability: Must be contactable and available for early morning calls (from 7:00 am) for same-day placements.

• Experience: Prior experience working with secondary-age students, youth groups, or in an educational setting is preferred.

• Skills: Strong classroom management, adaptability, and clear communication.

• DBS: An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
