The job role is for an experienced Simulation (LVC) Engineer to join the C4I Battlelab team. The primary focus of the role is to configure and utilize various connected simulation tools to create military-based mission thread scenarios that address customer problem spaces across the Land, Air, and Maritime domains.

Core Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Synthetic Environment & Scenario Generation: You will create multi-domain scenarios that support fully virtual and hybrid virtual/live system demonstrations. This includes generating scenarios and synthetic environments to model virtual entities, battlespace environments, network simulations (like Tactical WAN and BLOS), and basic air or ground platform simulations.
  • System Integration & Interfacing: A critical requirement is configuring external interfaces-such as DIS, specific tool APIs, IP interfaces, and TDL Message interfaces-to enable real-time behavioral interactions between live and virtual systems. You will also create scripts and apps to bridge simulation tool APIs and integrate synthetic tools to meet mission needs.
  • Sensor & Mission Application Simulation: You will configure simulation and live mission applications (like C2 tools) to access maps and imagery data, set up central map servers, and configure simulated gimbal sensors. This includes streaming simulated sensor payload outputs (e.g., EO/IR, SAR) into live systems.
  • RF Communications Modeling & Analysis: You will be responsible for creating highly realistic digital simulation environments to plan space, air, and terrestrial assets and perform RF modeling and simulation data analysis. This encompasses end-to-end communication systems design, high-fidelity wireless channel modeling, waveform implementation, and optimizing communication infrastructure placements. You will also analyze these systems using parametric studies, carpet plots, Design of Experiments (DOE) tests, and Monte Carlo-based probabilistic analysis.

Required Tool Proficiency:

  • Scenario Generation: You must be proficient with MAK-ONE (VR-Forces & VR-Vantage) and EMANE-based network simulators, with L16 simulators considered desirable.
  • RF Modelling: Essential experience includes using Ansys STK and RFCM, particularly for non-real-time, higher-fidelity RF comms modeling and applying those outputs back into real-time hybrid environments. Experience with Matlab is also desirable.
