We are looking for a Lead React Engineer to join our team in Sheffield for an exciting 6-month project. If you thrive on solving complex architecture puzzles, mentoring junior devs by example, and writing pristine TypeScript, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architect & Build: Drive the development of high-performance production web applications using React and modern frontend tooling.
- Optimize & Debug: Dive into existing codebases to hunt down bugs, implement functional enhancements, fix layout issues, and level up overall code quality.
- System Design: Own frontend architecture decisions—from state management and component design to smart data fetching, caching, and performance tuning.
- Champion Accessibility: Ensure our digital products are inclusive, delivering seamless experiences aligned with WCAG practices.
- Maintain Quality: Lead by example with robust testing approaches (Unit, Integration, E2E) and strict code quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
- React Mastery: Deep, production‑proven experience with React and the modern frontend ecosystem.
- Testing Advocate: Hands‑on experience with unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing frameworks.
- The Technical Bar: As part of our hiring process, candidates will need to complete a Karat technical assessment.
This is a hybrid role based in our Sheffield office. You’ll need to be in the office 2-3 days a week to collaborate with the team face‑to‑face, with the remaining days working remotely.
