Start-Up Business Support Advisor

London or Sheffield (Hybrid – 2 days on-site)

12-months contract

About the Role

As a Start-Up Business Support Advisor, you will guide applicants through the entire finance application journey — from first conversation to final decision. You’ll assess business plans and cash flow forecasts, offering clear, practical advice to help applicants strengthen their propositions. You’ll work closely with internal teams, including Credit and Fraud, ensuring each application is assessed smoothly and responsibly.

What You’ll Do

  • Review business plans and cash flow forecasts to assess feasibility
  • Provide advice and guidance to applicants throughout the full application process
  • Communicate with applicants confidently over the phone and via email
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Credit and Fraud
  • Support aspiring entrepreneurs in shaping successful business ideas

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a Business Advisor is ideal — but not essential
  • Alternatively: previous business ownership, mentoring experience, or strong transferable skills
  • Confident communicator, especially on the phone
  • Ability to understand business financials and assess viability
  • Supportive, professional, and able to guide applicants with clarity
