We're hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-impact platform team within a globally scaled product company in the streaming space. This role sits within a newly formed Performance Optimization squad focused on improving infrastructure efficiency and reducing cost across thousands of services. This is a hands-on engineering role where your work directly translates into measurable performance gains and cost savings at scale.

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive infrastructure optimisation initiatives across large-scale Kubernetes environments (GKE)
  • Identify and implement improvements in resource utilisation (CPU, memory, workload placement)
  • Tune JVM-based services to enhance performance and efficiency
  • Build automation to roll out optimisation changes safely across production systems
  • Work closely with data to analyse usage patterns and drive cost-efficiency decisions
  • Contribute to reliability practices, including safe deployments and incident response

Tech stack: Kubernetes (GKE), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, Helm, Python, Go, Java

What we're looking for:

  • 3-5 years' experience in Infrastructure, Platform, or Site Reliability Engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (ideally GKE)
  • Solid coding/scripting skills in Python, Go, or Java
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Good understanding of system performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Experience working in product-based multinational corporations

Nice to have:

  • Experience with JVM tuning in production environments
  • Exposure to cloud cost optimisation / FinOps practices
  • Understanding of SLOs, error budgets, and safe rollout strategies
  • Experience working in large-scale distributed systems
