We are seeking an experienced Exterior Project Lead to drive the engineering development of all exterior systems for our next-generation smart electric vehicles.

Location: Oxford (hybrid)

Contract: 6 months with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Lead engineering delivery and project management for exterior systems (bumpers, grilles, lighting, glass, aerodynamic trims, and ornamentation) from initial styling to gateway approvals.
  • Timeline & Supplier Management: Manage the master engineering schedule, tracking deliverables, styling freezes, and injection-mold tooling timelines.
  • Tech Integration: Integrate cutting-edge technologies like premium LED/laser lighting, hidden autonomous driving sensors (LiDAR/cameras), and active aero systems into the vehicle skin.
  • Cross-Functional Balance: Balance premium aesthetics with technical attributes like drag coefficient, fit-and-finish, and pedestrian safety.
  • DFM/DFA: Review and sign off CAD geometry (Catia V5/V6), ensuring cost-effective, high-yield production with stamping and injection molding suppliers.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience within premium OEMs, EV start-ups, or advanced concept environments.
  • Education: B.Eng or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Design, or equivalent.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of exterior craftsmanship, including injection molding, paint finishes, glass integration, and sheet metal limitations.
  • Tools: Proficiency with CAD platforms (Catia V5/V6 preferred) alongside project management tools like Jira/Confluence.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with a proven track record of managing complex, multi-component systems under tight timelines.
