Are you a time served and experienced Electrical Engineer? Are you based in or around Wednesfield? We have a permanent Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer role available within the Tata Steel’s Steelpark site. Steelpark is the UK’s largest steel distribution and processing centre and also one that is supported by a domestic steel mill.
The successful applicant will hold a UK time served Electrical apprenticeship and hold significant experience within a heavy industry, having conducted reactive and preventative maintenance.
Role: Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer
Location: Tata Steel, Steelpark Way, Willenhall, Wolverhampton WV11 3SQ
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 + 18% Shift Allowance = Total Salary £37,760 - £44,840
Shift Patterns: 3-shift rotating pattern (mornings, afters and nights), Monday - Friday. 37.5 hours per week
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment. This does involve a drug and alcohol test.
Responsibilities:
- Perform necessary breakdown repairs and lead preventative maintenance activities.
- Facilitate engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure efficiency and productivity targets are met.
- Report and record maintenance and repair details using relevant IT and maintenance management systems.
- Support the development and implementation of processes complying with Tata Steel H&S Management System.
- Utilize the planned maintenance system (Pirana) to log work orders and highlight non-conformities.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain clear and concise records to track trends and identify improvements.
Essential requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant electrical trade or a recognized apprenticeship.
- Strong electrical background with a proven track record.
- Compliance with current health & safety regulations.
- Experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding within a heavy engineering/industrial environment.
- Ability to adapt to new equipment.
- Flexible and eager to learn and develop.
Desirable requirements:
- Driving license and use of a car.
- Knowledge of electrical systems in heavy industry.
