Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer within a Manufacturing environment? Do you hold a time served apprenticeship and 18th Edition? Are you based in or around Wigan? There is an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join one of the world's largest food processing companies. The successful applicant will be a mechanical and electrical biased Engineer who has sound experience within a Manufacturing environment. Only applicants with a time served apprenticeship and 18th edition qualification will be considered.
Location: 5 Spring Rd, Kitt Green, Orrell, Wigan WN5 0JL
Salary: £22.13ph (basic), £26.56ph (double days), £28.95ph (mid week GM), £31ph (nights)
Shift Patterns: 3X rotating shift pattern.
- Morning shift: 06:00-14:00 (Mon-Wed), 06:00-13:00 (Thu), 07:00-15:00 (Fri)
- Afternoon shift: 14:00-22:00 (Mon-Wed), 13:00-20:00 (Wed)
- Nights shift: 22:00-06:00 (Mon-Wed), 22:00-07:00 (Thu)
Start: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Working within the shift team to maintain assets within the operational areas
- Ensuring equipment delivers maximum volume at maximum quality
- Working with production and engineering managers and technicians to rapidly resolve line breakdown
- Identifying root cause analysis efficiently and in a timely manner to bring equipment back into use as soon as possible
- Seeking cost effective improvements to ensure reliability of equipment
- Conducting PPM and reactive maintenance using electrical control system, automation and mechanical skill
- Diagnosing faults on mechanical and electrical equipment
- Testing mechanical and electrical equipment
- Working to improve maintenance KPI’s
- Ensuring a high level of Health and Safety at all times as well as ensuring all activity is risk assessed
- Reporting maintenance tasks on SAP

Essential requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (due to nature of site and shift timings)
- Time served engineering apprenticeship within an Engineering discipline
- NVQ level 3/HNC/ONC Mechanical or Electrical qualification
- 18th Edition qualified
- 5 years+ experience within Maintenance engineering
- Experience within a Manufacturing environment (2+years)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
- Good level of IT literacy and engineering systems
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (desirable)
- Previous experience using SAP (desirable)
