Are you a Science graduate looking to launch your career with a global industry leader? Are you based in or around Llanelli? Tata Steel’s historic Trostre Works manufactures over 400,000 tonnes of high-quality steel packaging every year. This role is ideal for a Science degree holder looking for an opportunity to provide an analytical service to the highest standard within a laboratory environment.
Location: Tata Steel, Trostre works, Llanelli, SA14 9SD
Rate: £13.39ph (£25,408 per annum)
Contract length: 3 months initially with the view to extend or offer a permanent position
Shift Patterns: Mon-Fri, 36.5 hours per week (08:30-16:45 Mon-Thu and Fri 08:30-15:45)
Start: ASAP but pending a successful medical assessment result, which does include a Drug and Alcohol test
Responsibilities:
- Undertaking monitoring, sampling and testing procedures within the technical department
- Being part of the nominated person(s) to conduct routine maintenance, break down and calibration of equipment
- Supporting the technical Team Leader with Quality Assurance tasks
- Ensuring COSHH documentation is maintained to the highest standard
- Entering findings and results into the allocated databases
- Reporting findings to relevant stakeholders and notifying non-conformances to the Team Leader
