An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join a Component Engineering department for our client in Peterborough. This role will focus on leading the design and development of air and fuel system components, impacting both new and current products. This position is ideal for a designer capable of generating innovative solutions within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Role Details: Contract Duration: 12 months, with a likelihood of extension. Working Hours: Core hours are 08:30-16:30, with flexible start and finish times. Location: This is a full-time, on-site position in Peterborough (5 days a week). Pay Rates: £38-£42 per hour Key Responsibilities: Design, plan, and deliver air and fuel system and component development projects, meeting time, cost, and quality goals. Communicate design and project status to peers, stakeholders, and management. Lead design reviews to gain cross-functional business support for new designs and supplier nomination. Collaborate with suppliers to develop specifications and deliver quality solutions Assess technical risk and coordinate simulation and validation activities Investigate and resolve technical issues using 8D methodology Collaborate with Product Management to understand customer needs and design requirements. Ideal Candidate Requirements: Experience using CAD to design components Expertise in fuel systems, air systems, EGR systems, and turbochargers. A Bachelor\’s degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience. Experience in engineering, preferably in the on/off-highway powertrain sector. Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management Teamcenter experience being highly desirable. Ability to use simulation tools for self-analysis. A strong team player with effective communication skills.
