Are you an experienced Engineering Manager within a fast paced Heavy Industry production environment? Do you consider yourself to be a strong advocate for maintenance excellence? Are you based in or around Corby? Tata Steel are seeking an Engineering Manager on a permanent basis to join their Corby works. Corby works has undergone significant investment and the successful applicant will be part of the new and emerging cold mill, warehouse, engineering workshops and stores. Only applicants based in the UK and holding significant Heavy Industry experience will be considered.
Location: Tata Steel, Weldon Rd, Corby NN17 5UA
Rate: Competitive and based upon experience
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment, which does include a Drug and Alcohol test
Responsibilities:
- Being part of the Corby Operations Leadership team (COLT) and advocating safety, performance and strategy
- Leading a team of skilled Engineers to ensure manufacturing assets and site infrastructure is to the highest safety standard
- Promoting continuous development across the site to ensure safety and plant performance
- Occasionally travelling to other Tata Steel sites for networking events and face to face meetings
- Providing Engineering support, knowledge and leadership to Manufacturing operations
- Implementing asset reliability against Tata Steels UK maintenance and reliability model
- Determining timetables and programmes for PPM and managing the programmes as needed
- Coaching and mentoring the team towards excellence
Essential requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience delivering Maintenance excellence programmes within a heavy industry environment (2+ years)
- Degree Education in an Engineering Discipline
- Chartered membership (or working towards)
- Prior experience leading a diverse team (100+) with a range of experiences and skillsets
- Sound understanding of management systems
- Good IT literacy especially with MS Office
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing KPI’s, loss analysis and improvement metrics
- Strong verbal and written communication
- An excellent knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
