Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with experience within the DIY Retail industry? Do you consider yourself to hold strong interpersonal skills? Catnic, part of Tata Group, is expanding! The successful applicant will hold proven experience delivering growth and business development within the retail market, ideally the DIY trade.
On this occasion, only applicants with FULL Right to work in the UK already in place can be considered.
Role: Business Development Manager (Retail)
Hours: Mon-Fri, standard office hours
Location: Catnic, Pontypandy Industrial Estate, Caerphilly, CF83 3GL (Head office). This role is UK wide and therefore base location is flexible.
Salary: competitive and based upon experience
Responsibilities:
- Identifying, targeting and converting new business within the retail DIY market
- Understanding building products and construction materials to aid credible buying conversations
- Building strong, exclusive relationships with depot Managers, buyers, Procurement Directors and retail Trading teams
- Working independently and managing own pipeline of growth
- Working collaboratively with the wider commercial team on larger business wins
- Qualifying opportunities for growth and new business
- Building pipelines of prospect growth and converting to revenue outcome
- Managing CRM activity
Essential requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
- Previous experience in a Business Development role, winning new business within DIY Retail and/or Trade
- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication and influence and negotiation skills
- Experience with retailer planogram cycles
- Confidence in creating and delivering presentations
- Good IT literacy, especially with MS Office and CRM systems
- The ability to use data to build commercial arguments
- Prior experience measuring success through revenue growth, margin and new wins
- Knowledge of building products, fixings, hardware or equivalent
- Familiarity with buying structures: Fortis, NBG
- Sound understanding of the UK housebuilding and residential construction market
