Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Roadworker 3 / LGV Driver to join our Highways team to provide temporary sickness cover. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering minor highway construction and maintenance works including road surfacing, groundworks, drainage, kerbing, footways, and winter maintenance. You'll be working as part of a dedicated team committed to keeping our roads safe and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate individual teams in the delivery of minor highway construction and maintenance work instructions
- Operate specialist equipment and machinery including scarifiers, mechanical rollers, hot box, road saws, dumper trucks, mini excavators, and Hyab lorries
- Undertake minor planned and unplanned maintenance of the Highways asset infrastructure
- Erect traffic management signs and cones in accordance with the code of practice to operate in a controlled and safe environment
- Participate in an out of hours Emergency Call out and a Winter Maintenance rota
Requirements
- Hold and maintain a current valid LGV class 1 and/or 2 driving licence (essential)
- Hyab operator's certificate (essential)
- Hold and maintain CPC competency certification
- General small works highway construction, highway drainage and groundworks experience
- Must be willing to undergo Health Surveillance including HAVS (Hand Arm Vibration), Traffic Management, and Audiometry Testing
