A Catering Operations Manager oversees all aspects of catering services, ensuring smooth and profitable operations by managing staff, food preparation, hygiene, budgets, and client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include leading teams, maintaining high food and safety standards, controlling stock and finances, liaising with clients, and coordinating between kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management: Recruiting, training, and leading a catering team, managing performance, and ensuring alignment with company policies
- Food & Beverage: Supervising food preparation to high standards, planning menus, ordering stock, and managing inventory
- Operations: Overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and kitchen, and troubleshooting any issues that arise
- Health & Safety: Ensuring all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations are met, including managing risk assessments and incident reporting
- Financial Management: Working within budget, managing financial targets, and controlling costs to maintain profitability
- Client Relations: Building strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction, and meeting contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Customer Experience: Driving excellent front-of-house service and ensuring an immaculate and positive dining experience for customers
