Salary: Β£40,000 per annum

Contract Type: 12-Months

Working Pattern: Full-Time, On-Site

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join our site engineering and facilities team in Witney on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

In this role, you will deliver hands-on electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis across operational plant facilities, clean manufacturing areas, and offices. In addition to day-to-day servicing, you will play an active role in site improvement initiatives, supporting minor installation projects, building alterations, external contractor coordination, and facilities validation activities in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Plant Operations

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responsive repairs across low-voltage (single and 3-phase) systems, power distribution, lighting, and auxiliary plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electro-mechanical faults rapidly to minimise disruption to live manufacturing operations.
  • Support the installation, modification, and basic maintenance of site utilities and electronic Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency gains, process improvements, and equipment upgrades across the facility.

Project Support & Contractor Coordination

  • Assist with the execution of minor electrical installations, room alterations, equipment modifications, and area refurbishments across production and support spaces.
  • Help oversee external electrical/M&E contractors on-site, ensuring all works strictly adhere to safe systems of work, permit-to-work protocols, and site safety rules.
  • Review schematics, single-line diagrams, and layout drawings ahead of installation or modification works.
  • Assist with recording contract services and tracking job sheets to support purchasing, materials ordering, and invoice verification.

Compliance, Quality & EHS

  • Maintain all installations, remedial tasks, and modifications in full compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations, statutory UK building codes, and factory inspectorate safety standards.
  • Follow site Quality System requirements, ensuring all works conform to formal change control and qualification/validation documentation standards.
  • Support facilities and utilities validation activities by maintaining clear, audit-ready maintenance logs, calibration checks, and test certificates.
  • Uphold strict Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards, taking an active role in hazard reporting, risk assessments, and continuous workplace safety.

What We Are Looking For

  • Essential Qualifications:
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification (City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent).
    • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Electrotechnical Services, or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Experience & Knowledge:
    • Proven experience in electrical maintenance, facilities engineering, or building services within an industrial, commercial, or regulated manufacturing setting.
    • Practical understanding of electrical safety, safe isolation, and permit-to-work procedures.
    • Experience working alongside external contractors and supporting project/refurbishment activities.
    • Exposure to formal quality management systems, change control, or validation processes is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with BMS, HVAC controls, or clean utility plant operations is a strong plus.
  • Key Attributes:
    • High attention to detail with an organised approach to documentation and job tracking.
    • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively between production teams, project engineers, and external service vendors.
    • An active ECS Gold Card or formal Inspection & Testing credentials (City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 / 2395) are highly desirable.
