Are you an experienced High Voltage Electrical Engineer? Do you consider yourself highly skilled and an asset to a busy engineering team? Are you based in or around Shotton (CH5)? We have a full-time permanent opportunity available within our Colors department at Tata Steel. This role is ideal for someone with in-depth electrical engineering knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining and improving high voltage infrastructure.
Location: Shotton (CH5)
Rate: £48,867 - £58,641 + Bonus
Contract length: Permanent
Shift Patterns: Day Shift
Responsibilities:
- Manage the inspection, maintenance, and upgrade of high voltage electrical systems across the site.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
- Provide technical support for capital projects involving HV systems.
- Lead and coordinate planned maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults quickly and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors.
- Drive improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Essential requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working with high voltage infrastructure in a heavy industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in electrical maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable requirements:
- Driving licence and access to a car.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies or lean principles.
