Are you a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a passion for innovation? Do you have experience delivering design solutions in a heavy industrial environment? You will play a key role in designing engineering solutions that support major capital projects, plant improvements, and maintenance excellence.

Location: TATA Steel, Port Talbot SA13 2NG, United Kingdom

Salary: £33,120 - £42,000 depending on experience

Role: Design Engineer

Start: ASAP, pending the result of a completed medical assessment, which does include a Drug and Alcohol test

This is a dynamic, hands-on role combining plant and office-based work, including site visits to ensure successful implementation of designs across Port Talbot and Llanwern.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development of mechanical designs for capital projects and plant performance improvements.
  • Approving and validating in-house designs and evaluating those from third-party suppliers.
  • Providing technical expertise to resolve plant and equipment failures or inefficiencies.
  • Collaborating across technical teams, project engineers, and external engineering partners.
