Are you an experienced MIG and/or ARC Welder? Do you have Fabrication experience within a Manufacturing or Industrial environment? Are you based in or around Wolverhampton? Tata Steel is seeking a time served Welder Fabricator who is proficient in MIG and/or ARC welding at their Steelpark site. Steelpark is the UKs largest steel distribution and processing centre. Only applicants with full Right To Work in the UK can be considered on this occasion.

Role: Maintenance Fabricator & Welder

Location: Steelpark Way, Willenhall, Wolverhampton WV11 3SQ, United Kingdom

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 + 10% Employer pension

Shift Patterns: Day shifts, Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week

Start: ASAP, pending the successful result of a medical, which includes a Drug and Alcohol test.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing fabrication and welding repairs to facilitate both breakdown recovery and planned maintenance
  • Working to the highest Welding standards at all times
  • Interpreting complex engineering drawings to produce precise fabrication works
  • Diagnosing equipment issues and implementing preventative solutions
  • Managing and prioritising fabrication workloads to meet rigorous operational demands
  • Maintaining stringent adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Documenting maintenance activities, spare requirements, and root causes using internal management systems
  • Mentoring junior team members and apprentices

Essential requirements:

  • Time-served apprenticeship ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in a relevant fabrication/welding discipline
  • Strong background in manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MIG and arc welding techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes
  • Profound Health & Safety legislation understanding
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good level of IT literacy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
