We have a temporary role available within DS Smith's Smethwick site to help support a Christmas project.
Role: Assembly Operative
Location: DS Smith, Summit Crescent, Smethwick,West Midlands. B66 1BT
Rate: Β£13.87ph
Contract length: 21st October - 15th December
Shift Patterns: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm and Friday 8am - 3pm
Start: 21st October
Responsibilities:
- Assembly of cardboard boxes, profiling, glueing, stapling.
- Reporting to the Shift Team Leader and following their direction as required
- Ensuring the quality of product produced is to DS Smith standards
- Helping the team to achieve productivity goals and being part of improvement initiatives
- Maintaining highest possible standard of housekeeping
- Adhering to UK Health and Safety at all times and encouraging others to do the same
Essential requirements:
- Good level of verbal and written communication
- Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
- Ability to conduct manual handling and be standing for long periods of time
- Proactive nature and ability to work upon own initiative
- Flexibility towards shift work and overtime
- Own safety shoes/boots or trainers
