Overview

Randstad C&P are working with a Global FM client who are seeking a Static Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Preston. This is a full-time, temp to perm role (3 months temporary before going permanent). The main working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. The client is seeking someone who is going to be reliable and who is also able to be proactive and work independently on site.

The Package

  • Full-time hours; Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • Competitive Salary between £42,000 – £44,000 per annum
  • Additional earnings are available through overtime and oncall.
  • 33 days of annual leave including bank holidays

Duties

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on steam boilers and building services equipment.
  • Handling reactive and emergency breakdown tasks on plumbing and boiler systems.
  • Inspecting, fault-finding, and diagnosing issues with mechanical systems, especially steam boilers.
  • Repairing and maintaining pumps, valves, and other boiler systems.
  • Performing leak detection and testing pipe systems for leaks.
  • Completing job sheets electronically using a tablet or smartphone.
  • Maintaining site-based records and log books.
  • Working to all health, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • NVQ Level3/ City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with steam boilers and commercial building maintenance in a customer-facing environment.
  • Commercial Plumbing experience
  • Ability to work independently
