Section Engineer (Rail) – Prestigious North East Project

We are seeking a Section Engineer for a long-term role on a high-profile rail project in the North East of England. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading civil engineering and construction firm on a project focused on non-lineside civils works.

We\’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, with a proven background in rail & construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff.

Monitor progress against the project program.

Accurately set out works and ensure they are independently checked.

Maintain comprehensive daily diary records.

Assist with \”look ahead\” programs, coordinating with the overall site schedule.

Identify and report changes to the scope of works.

Ensure all material testing and sampling meets project specifications.

Record and report non-conformances, ensuring corrective action is taken.

Candidate Requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Proven experience working on large infrastructure projects, ideally for a Tier 1 contractor.

Strong heavy civils background / rail stations experience is preferred.

Previous rail experience is a significant advantage.
