The Role
As a Service Charge Accountant, you will manage end-to-end service charge accounting for a dedicated property portfolio, working closely with Property Managers, clients, and auditors
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end service charge accounts following RICS Codes of Practice and ARMA rules
- Manage accruals, prepayments, developer voids, income splits, and balancing adjustments
- Coordinate client audits, submit VAT returns to HMRC, and issue Section 20b notices
- Resolve complex accounting queries with property managers, freeholders, and RMCs
- Assist with the financial on boarding of newly acquired properties
What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a Service Charge Accountant, Portfolio Accountant, or Block Property Accountant
- Strong knowledge of residential property management regulations (RICS, ARMA-Q)
- Hands-on experience with property accounting systems (e.g., Qube, Yardi, Tramps) and MS Excel.
- Excellent numerical precision, time management, and communication skills
- Candidate keen to develop and progress
