HSE Manager (Health, Safety, and Environmental)

You will use your in-depth technical and legislative knowledge to partner with managers and staff, ensuring a safe workplace and delivering a robust Health & Safety and Environmental agenda.
Key Responsibilities
You will be accountable for ensuring a safe workplace environment without risk to health and ensuring the company meets its statutory obligations.

Strategy & Compliance: Develop and implement a robust Health and Safety Strategy and ensure adherence to all H&S Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulations.

Risk & Incident Management: Lead the completion of regular review of risk assessments for all equipment and operations and create a Risk Register. Maintain the system for recording, reporting, and investigating injuries, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses.

Auditing & Training: Carry out regular Site Inspections / GMP Audits. Lead in-house training with managers and employees and deliver in-depth H&S Inductions for all new employees. Proactively manage COSHH and the handling of hazardous substances.

Environmental Leadership: Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans to ensure corporate sustainable development. Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, and recycling. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and monitor factory energy efficiency and usage.
Essential Requirements

Experience & Qualifications: You must be NEBOSH qualified and have 3-5 years\’ previous experience successfully managing a H&S function where the workforce is 100+ employees. You must have extensive and up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.

Systems & Auditing: You need a very good understanding of the framework for ISO 9001/14001/45001 to conduct quarterly internal audits. Experience with SEDEX is also required.

Skills: Strong leadership style with the ability to lead change. You must be prepared to be very hands-on , able to manage the site\’s PPE purchasing (budget management) , and present monthly reports (Accidents – Stats – Near misses AFR) to the Senior Management Team (SMT).
