Title: Electrician (Electrical Craft Technician)
Location: Corby, Northampton
Shift: Monday – Friday (Rotating pattern of days, lates and nights)
Salary: Circa £36,000 – £38,000 per annum (including shift allowance)
The Company:
We are undergoing substantial investment and development to drive the organisation\’s mission of being a sustainable metal provider. The successful applicant will be a time served Electrician who has worked in heavy industry, carrying out maintenance craft work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the smooth operation and maintenance of the plant\’s electrical systems.
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues with AC/DC motors, drives, and relay control circuits.
- Handle basic PLC fault finding on Siemens S7 systems (300, 1200, and 1500).
- Read electrical schematics and use computerized maintenance management systems (MMS).
- Propose and implement improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
- Strictly follow all Health and Safety protocols and SSOW.
- Support departmental improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Electrician with a completed apprenticeship and at least 2 years of experience in a heavy industrial setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause failure analysis.
- Experience with low-voltage systems, drives, and PLCs.
- Familiarity with SAP or a similar computerized system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
- Must have a driving license and a vehicle and be available for flexible shifts.
- 18th Edition certification (desired)
