Are you a proactive Maintenance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment? We are looking for an electrically biased, multi-skilled professional to take ownership of the facilities management (FM) for five key retail stores across the Peterborough area. This isn’t just about fixing what’s broken; it’s about ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers and a safe working environment for staff.

The Role

You will be the "go-to" technical expert for your cluster of stores. While your primary focus is electrical, you’ll be comfortable turning your hand to general building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Maintenance: Conduct PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive repairs on lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution, and small-scale installations.
  • Fabric & General FM: Address general plumbing (leaks/taps), carpentry (doors/locks), and minor tiling or painting tasks.
  • Compliance: Ensure all site logs are up to date and work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee specialist subcontractors when they are on-site for major works.

What You’ll Need

  • Electrical Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) and 18th Edition are essential.
  • Retail FM Experience: You understand the nuances of working in "live" retail environments, including discretion around customers.
  • Location: Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough with a full UK driving license.

Why Join Us?

  • Work-Life Balance: No more chasing shifts. Enjoy a consistent Monday to Friday (07:00 - 16:00) schedule.
  • Earn More: While the core hours are stable, there is frequent overtime available for those looking to boost their take-home pay.
  • Local Patch: Support five stores within close proximity-no long-distance nationwide travel.
  • Equipment: Company van and fuel card provided.
