Are you a highly motivated and organized individual looking for a rewarding role in Human Resources? We're searching for a skilled HR Officer to join the Lifecycle Services team at Bridgend County Borough Council.

Job Type: Full-Time (3-Month Contract)

Pay rate: £14.13 per hour

Location: Bridgend (Bridgend County Borough Council)

Shifts: Monday - Friday (Standard Business Hours)

Duration: 3 Months

Who are you?

  • An experienced administrative professional with an understanding of the range of work undertaken within an HR team.
  • A highly organized individual who can prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a clear understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • An excellent communicator (both written and verbal) who can provide outstanding customer care to employees and managers at all levels.
  • Tech-savvy with good ICT skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and experience using computerized information systems.
  • Desirable: Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing a full range of HR operational and administrative services to support the complete employment journey of employees, from recruitment right through to retirement.
  • Processing new starters within required deadlines, including completing employment checks, safeguarding checks, and initial gross pay calculations.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and processing contractual changes throughout the employee lifecycle in compliance with HR policies.
  • Undertaking criminal records checks (DBS) and processing associated paperwork.
  • Supporting vacancy management and recruitment processes, advising managers and employees on relevant HR procedures.
  • Accurately maintaining and updating all related HR/Payroll computerized information systems.
