My client is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their expanding engineering team based in Warrington.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to join an experienced team and develop into a key member of the business.
Working across a range of automation projects, you'll primarily focus on the electrical design of control systems, supporting projects from concept through to delivery.
You'll work closely with an experienced Controls Software Engineer, receiving hands-on mentoring while taking ownership of the electrical design aspects of each project.
Over time, there will also be opportunities to gain exposure to the software and controls programming side for those interested in broadening their skillset.
Projects span multiple sectors including industrial automation, fuel and oil systems, vehicle wash systems, and other bespoke control applications in and around the rail sector.
Essential
Requirements
- Experience designing electrical control panels.
- Experience producing electrical drawings using an electrical CAD package such as Auto CAD Electrical, EPLAN, Solid Works Electrical or similar.
- An HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation or a related discipline.
- A good understanding of control systems and industrial automation.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to commute to the Warrington office at least three days per week
Desirable
- Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
- Knowledge of HMIs and industrial automation projects.
- Experience producing cable schedules and termination drawings.
- Previous project engineering experience.
- Experience within manufacturing, food and beverage, water, utilities, system integration or similar industries.
