People Group are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager from a Client Side background to work for a Train Operating Company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the project team in the procurement, construction and delivery of the project to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Lead the development and maintenance of a culture of world-class health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Formally manage risks through the use of the WMT Risk Management process.
- Manage all aspects of quality management, ensuring quality is implemented throughout and lessons learned are captured.
- Deliver to defined cost, schedule, and quality requirements, leading the successful handover of assigned projects ensuring all Operational Readiness planning and activities are in place.
- Lead the development of the project team; set standards, manage, motivate, coach, and mentor staff within the team. Recognise talent and assist in the development of those with high potential.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role, including all standards and code compliance, and required planning permissions.
- Manage and positively influence key stakeholders (both internal & external).
- Ensure projects are completed within planned budget, timeline, and quality/compliance standards.
Essentials and Desirables:
- Experience working client-side within the rail sector (preferably on Depots).
- NEC3 / NEC4 working knowledge.
- Obtained or working towards EngTech, IEng, CEng or Equivalent.
- A PRINCE2 Practitioner/ APM PMQ qualification or equivalent.
- Health and Safety Qualification IOSH minimum.
- A postgraduate University degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Business or significant operational experience.
- Attained Level 3 Competency in at least eight of the PMO Competency Categories in the Framework below.
