Section Engineer – Calvert (Inside IR35)
About the Role
Our client has been appointed to deliver major civil engineering works across a key section of the UK’s new high-speed rail link.
We are seeking a Section Engineer with strong Earthworks experience to join the team based in Calvert.
Key Responsibilities:
Report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close out.
Assist with temporary works design schemes.
Liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials effectively.
Ensure works are delivered to required standards, programme and budget.
Manage the site setting-out team and support the development of Site Engineers.
Identify and resolve technical issues on site in collaboration with the Sub Agent.
Monitor, coordinate and oversee subcontractors to ensure contractual compliance.
Ensure the team has up-to-date information and resources required for their duties.
Support in the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans.
Contribute to financial forecasting and overall project performance.
About You – Skills & Qualifications
HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), working towards ICE membership.
Demonstrable knowledge and practical experience in site engineering and construction supervision.
Proven Earthworks experience (essential).
Previous experience in utilities, heavy structures or drainage (desirable).
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Valid CSCS card (White, White-Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor).
SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
