Are you a Section Engineer with strong experience in setting out and civil engineering works?
Do you have hands-on experience across earthworks, drainage or precast works, with a strong understanding of site quality and construction processes?
We're looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join a leading joint venture to work on the delivery of earthworks, drainage on HS2.
Duration: 6 months
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Section Engineer within civil engineering/infrastructure.
- Strong setting out and surveying experience.
- Experience using EDM, laser and GPS equipment.
- Proven experience delivering earthworks, drainage and/or precast works.
- Strong understanding of ITPs, RAMS, quality checks and site diaries.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of construction materials and site processes.
- CSCS certification.
- SMSTS certification.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- A proactive approach to health, safety, quality and delivery.
Your responsibilities will include
- Supporting the day-to-day coordination and planning of site works.
- Carrying out setting out and surveying using EDM, laser and GPS equipment.
- Supervising and coordinating earthworks, drainage and precast activities.
- Working with subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Preparing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, permits and consents.
- Ensuring Permit to Dig, Temporary Works and other relevant safety systems are implemented.
- Carrying out and recording quality checks in accordance with ITP requirements. Maintaining accurate site diaries and project records.
- Managing and reporting non-conformances through to close-out.
- Reading and interpreting engineering and construction drawings.
- Ensuring materials are correctly managed and available to support the programme.
- Working collaboratively with the wider HS2 project team and subcontractors.
