About the role
As an RSM Assistant Technician, you’ll support the Shift Supervisor in delivering safe, accurate, and high-quality work across all maintenance tasks. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all activities are completed to standard, on time, and properly recorded in the XVPlus system. Beyond technical execution, you’ll help promote a strong team culture, offering support, training, and guidance to colleagues while upholding our commitment to safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Salary: £40,623.40
Hours: 40 hours per week rota days/afters/nights
Location: Various (across the Supertram network)

About you
- You are a proactive and detail-oriented individual, passionate about railway maintenance
- As an Assistant Rolling Stock Technician, you excel in a team setting, performing planned maintenance and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs
- You meticulously capture and report data, ensuring all tasks are documented and issues addressed promptly
- You enhance your knowledge of Rolling Stock, Fault Diagnosis, and scheduled tram maintenance
- Under the guidance of Supervisors and Lead Technicians, you follow instructions precisely and assist in inspections and data capture
- Safety is your priority
- You maintain tools and equipment in excellent condition, adhere to stores processes, and contribute innovative ideas for improvement
