Overview

We are seeking an experienced Planner to join our team on a significant civil engineering scheme – the development of a new railway depot near the Bradford/Leeds area. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, monitoring, and managing project programmes to ensure successful delivery in line with contract requirements and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure accurate planning and reporting.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and updates to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project timelines and budgets.
  • Prepare planning reports, schedules, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that project programmes are fully aligned with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Planner on major civil engineering projects (essential).
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and a thorough understanding of planning methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a project team and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Rail sector experience (highly desirable, but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (preferred).
